  • Rinse thoroughly under lukewarm water
  • Pat dry immediately with a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth

What to AVOID

  • Ultrasonic cleaners can damage many softer gemstones including emeralds and tanzanite
  • Steam cleaners can crack or fracture temperature-sensitive stones
  • Harsh chemicals such as bleach, ammonia, and household cleaners can permanently damage or discolor gemstones
  • Abrasive materials like rough cloths or brushes can scratch softer stones
  • Extreme temperature changes can cause thermal shock and cracking

Storage

  • Store gemstone jewelry separately in individual soft pouches or fabric-lined compartments
  • Keep away from harder stones (like diamonds) that could scratch softer gems
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight
